Sebastian Carreño

Member of the Computer Vision research team. Main roles as optimization of Deep Neural Networks for inference with special focus on video frame interpolation using event cameras.

Member of the Connectivity and Driving Solutions team. Working on several serial production projects, developing the traffic participant fusion module, with the main responsibilities to process the camera and short/long radars inputs, and fuse them to obtain a 360° robust environment.

Click to edit position descriptionResponsable of an ADAS serial production project with a team of more than 10 engineers. As technical lead I am responsible achieving project milestones fulfilling the SW development process, coordinate, supervise and delegate work packages done by the different teams, Requirements, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Embedded, Vehicle, Test and Validation and Tooling.

Design camera based Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for the automotive industry, such as stereo and monocular based obstacle detection, traffic sign recognition, line departure warning and forward collision warning.

Develop a vision based target detector and pipe tracker for an autonomous underwater robot. Attended the SAUC-E competition in Spezia, 2010. Study navigation algorithms for autonomous underwater vehicles. Participate in a European project of underwater robotics Freesubnet.

Develop algorithm capable of understand complex areas of digitalized documents, such as logotype, hand marked regions, and document types. Also during this period I lead a team of overseas developers involved in online management applications for large scale companies.

Among other projects during my internship period at BAE I did a master thesis focused on SLAM sub-mapping techniques, furthermore I develop a scene segmentation for road detection algorithm, and near-infrared safety landing zones recognition for UAV study.
