I worked full-time in the R&D division-BIW Design and Development department. I was responsible for designing of Hood and Fender. While designing a part, one has to think in structured way about various factors like cost & weight impact, manufacturability of the part, serviceability, ergonomics etc. I learnt this independent and all-round thinking by working in cross functional teams in these years. This opportunity gave me an exposure to the whole product development process including trials and testing.
