Per Dec 1st, 2021, Synthos took over the Synthetic Rubber business from Trinseo. The newly created entity Synthos Schkopau GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of Synthos S.A. Synthos Schkopau GmbH includes the Schkopau site with Synthetic Rubber production (ESBR and SSBR), R&D center and local service functions as well as the commercial office in Eschborn.

Trinseo is a global leader in supplying synthetic rubber products and service. Trinseo operates world scale production facilities for different types of synthetic rubber in Schkopau, Germany: - Solution Styrene Butadiene Rubber (S-SBR) - Emulsion Styrene Butadiene Rubber (E-SBR) Key Focus is on specialized innovative rubber grades which meet the requirements of future mobility as well as utilizing most advanced technologies for sustainable operations and climate protection.

The IAB Ionenaustauscher GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of LANXESS. Main focus is manufacturing with two major product lines: Lewatit ion exchange resins and Lewabrane RO membrane elements. Both are part of the LANXESS Liquid Purification Technology business.
