As IT Environment Manager, me and my team are responsible for the end-user environment and related back-office infra. Topics are OS standardization, Microsoft 365 and multiple IaaS environments (Azure, AWS, GCP ...). I am also supporting the development of our business applications and the databases underneath as well as multiple Linux based servers like reverse proxies, mail relays, webservers etc.

I am responsible for the IT team that takes care of ESI Groups infrastructure in multiple sites within Germany. We take care of multiple datacenters and IT infrastructure for more than 200 people on 6 sites. In a world wide scope me and my team take part in global projects of the ESI Group.

I started as a software developer for C++, switched to C# and created some tools around our main software SimulationX. Later I discovered my deep understanding of networks and IT infrastructures and IT Administration became more and more my basic work topic. Until the end I was also responsible for the build, test and deployment tasks of our platform.
