Building self-contained responsive web solutions for financial institutions. Creating jQuery plugins to bundle functionalities and improving workflows using Git. Dealing with tight deadlines and challenging customer feedback in a completely remote work environment.

Extending a data-driven ReactJS project with new customer facing features. Prototyping and building complex interactive charts using advanced React modules such as Blueprint and React-vis. Working with database specialists and business intelligence tools to extract and visualize meaningful information out of complex databases. The job did not meet my expectations and was cancelled during probation period from my side.

Working mostly remote on various agile projects for online banking portals of Deutsche Bank and partner banks. Particular challenges were: Cross-browser compatibility, tablet development, high security and documentation standards and catering for different libraries (jQuery, Prototype). Very advanced CSS and Javascript coding was necessary to achieve the desired results. Proposing and prototyping new features and usability improvements. During the last year working on migrating the code to ReactJS.

Development of a cross-media discovery and sharing platform. The platform was a completely API-based “single page” application that supported all major browsers and tablets. Responding quickly to requirement and design changes in an Agile/SCRUM environment, the project was completed on time.

Developing new features in an Agile/SCRUM/test driven environment. Working with legacy code and pairing with (mainly junior) developers to refactor existing code as well as adding new features. Consulting with the client in all questions regarding frontend development. Contract was cancelled earlier from my side.

Coding the agency website in HTML5/CSS3 and implementing it in Concrete5. Adjusting the CMS by building more than five custom plugins and extending some core functionality. Adding social media features and video.

Advanced template development for all major browsers including IE6. Enriching user experience with jQuery and providing adequate fallback mechanisms for older browsers. Working in a fast-paced “start-up” environment and dealing with requirements and tasks that change on a daily basis.

Creating and developing user interfaces for web-based tools that help individuals as well as financial advisers with finanical planning. The tools are used for assessing and consolidating finances, pension forecasting and life planning in a simple and user-friendly way. The role required customising them for clients such as BBC or HSBC though main focus was on developing and prototyping new features. Due to the "desktop application feel" of the tools advanced jQuery coding was required.

Short-term last-minute contract to help getting the new streetcar.co.uk website live in time. Adjusting and bugfixing legacy code (HTML, CSS, Javascript) within .NET environment to fit design requirements. Supporting less experienced team members and helping management to prioritise features.

Short-term contract with focus on creating HTML5/CSS3 templates for an international T-Mobile promotion. Templates were developed to work on traditional websites as well as mobile devices. Integration of social media content (YouTube, Twitter, Facebook) and ensuring full cross-browser compatibility (down to Internet Explorer 6).

This was initially a 3-month contract that got extended three times. Included all aspects of web development: wireframing, user interface design, frontend development (jQuery, jQuery UI, AJAX) and backend development (Symfony 1.4, PHP, MySQL).

High profile frontend development (X)HTML/CSS/Javascript (mainly jQuery library) as well as middleweight backend development (object-oriented PHP within MVC-based Zend Framework). Working for clients such as Coca Cola, Nintendo, Tesco or Cineworld on projects that range from small and static to large and dynamic database-driven websites.

Coding (X)HTML/CSS websites according to web standards, implementing templates and functionality using Typo3 (PHP-based Open Source Enterprise CMS). Working together with graphic designers and backend programmers to ensure on-time deployment and user-friendly solutions. Discussing web-related strategies like SEO with the marketing department. Providing training to content managers in the use of Typo3.

Reporting directly to the Head of Product Database (PDB) Europe, responsible for the maintenance of the product database, ensuring that all products, images and information listed on the site were in line with the specifications. Supporting the Marketing team in launching online marketing campaigns and SEO strategies.

As a member of the web development team building websites using Typo3. Creating templates writing valid as well as cross-browser compatible (X)HTML-Code and CSS. Implementing templates and extensions in Typo3 using its scripting language Typoscript according to the company’s programming guidelines.

Maintaining websites created with the company’s content management system. Supporting senior web developers in their daily job as well as training clients how to use the system.
