Dr. Sylvie Rietmann

For one part my work within the policy team of ARCHE NOAH consisted of condensing information from complex writings into comprehensible short texts, the collation of EU-wide national information from competent authorities and the writing of contributions to social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook). The other part of my work consisted in organising and preparing international workshops (DIVERSIFOOD). The internship gave me a good insight into NGO work in Austria and politics at national and EU level.

The MPhil offers the opportunity to deepen the knowledge of conservation, while also acquiring valuable professional management and leadership skills. It includes strategic planning, finance and accounting, and HR management, innovation, entrepreneurship and the management of change.

As a Project Manager, I recruited and lead a team for a research study in Africa. Other responsibilities included: recruitment & logistics, habitat assessment, publication, creation of GIS maps, arranging licenses & permits, conference & event planning, risk assessment/project safety and lecturing.
