I was responsible for designing, setting up and conducting experiments, collecting data from the experiments, analyzing the collected data (programming language and statistical software R) and summarizing the main findings in manuscripts for scientific publications. In addition, I coordinated international collaborations, managed research projects and conducted analytical laboratory works in molecular biology (next-generation sequencing, metagenomics) and biochemistry.

I was responsible for optimizing a DNA fragmentation method for next-generation sequencing (NGS) and preparing human tissue samples for sequencing analyses.

In this position, I assessed plant defence responses to leaf damage by measuring gene expression patterns (qPCR) and production of defence metabolites (HPLC) in plant tissues. Additionally, I sequenced a gene functioning in a defence-related biochemical pathway of the study species, conducted statistical data analysis (statistical software R) and contributed to manuscript writing.

I carried out an internship in a group that works to improve the nutritional quality of cereals. My tasks consisted of laboratory works in molecular biology (DNA extractions, PCR, Southern Blot) and tissue culturing.
