Tim Kissane

Tim Kissane, CEO and founder of Timbury Computer Services, has 20 years of industry experience serving large corporations (including Alcatel-Lucent, Bell Labs, and IBM), small businesses and home users. An avid proponent of Free and Open Source Software since 1995.

Developed, maintained and used complex software configuration and build management system to produce network management software. Authored installation programs on AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux and Win NT. Provided technical support for help desk, programmers and customers. Tools included CVS, InstallShield, C++, Java, Perl, Sed, Awk, Shell scripts, HTML, Make, VNC, SSH and VMware.

Hired, trained and supervised tech support agents for inbound call center. Provided hardware and software support for Windows, Mac and UNIX. Worked on tech support web site and knowledge database. Developed automated reporting system to make support statistics available to managers and support agents. Developed Linux version of software product.

Taught adult classes in Intro to PCs, MS Office, Networking with Win NT, Web Page Design, Intro to Internet. Helped complete curriculum for accreditation audit. Assisted system administrator.
