We accompany ships through the western half of the Kiel Canal – from the North Sea estuary in Brunsbüttel to the pilot transfer station in Rüsterbergen at canal kilometer 55. From there, our colleagues in Kiel take over, continuing to the Baltic Sea estuary in Kiel-Holtenau. Together, we are the "canal pilots" within Germany's nine pilot associations – with a long tradition and unique challenges.

I am currently employed as a Chief Officer SDPO and report to the Master, managing 8 crew, including 2 Junior Officers, performing DP watch-keeping, operational and contingency planning as per IMCA guidelines for decommissioning projects in the North Sea. • Adhered to statutory regulations (SOLAS, STCW, COLREGS, MLC, flag state, CFR) and best practices STCW(B), BPG5, NI publications and UKHO. • Organised bridge / deck team and oversaw operation and maintenance of equipment.

I was employed as a 2nd Officer / DPO and reported to the Captain, supervising the crew during vessel reactivation after cold stack. • Involved with conversion for market re-entry and class renewal. • Prepared vessel and delivered crew training to Saudi ARAMCO standards prior project launch.

I was employed as a Staff Officer Lt. Cdr. (OF-2) and supported "Operation Sea Guardian" through NATO Shipping Centre in the Maritime Operations Centre (MOC). • Advised maritime operations centre on civilian/commercial shipping. • Contributed to the Commander's update briefing.

I was employed as 2nd Officer / DPO and reported to the Master, managing 8 crew and supporting Premier Oil with well intervention and well abandonment project with SAT divers at Balmoral Field, North Sea.

I was employed as a Chief Officer & 2nd Officer SDPO and worked as Shipboard Safety Officer, overseeing HSEQ policies & COSHH compliance during the Viking Bravo platform decommissioning and Centrica Storage Limited (CSL) in Rough gas field crane upgrade.: • Delivered vessel maintenance and ship stability calculations. • Adhered to statutory regulations (SOLAS, STCW, COLREGS, MLC, flag state, CFR) and (STCW(B), BPG5, NI).

I was employed as Master of the Search and Rescue Vessel Iuventa of JugendRettet e.V, during the majority of the 2016 SAR campaign in the South-Central Med. Involved in the safe rescue of 6527 persons in distress over a 4-month period.

I was employed as a Chief-Officer and assisted the Master in implementing / maintaining the Company's policies and Safety Management System. • Acted as departmental head for Deck Officers and Crew. • Supervised navigation and the operative phases of the vessel. Naval Cooperation and Guidance for Shipping

I was employed as a 1st Officer & 2nd Officer SDPO, performing DP watch-keeping, operational and contingency planning, passage planning, safe navigation during pilotage, and coastal / ocean passages. • Followed IMCA guidelines, notes & code of practices in quality safety, environmental and technical standards. • Supported Total E&P at the OFON Field Nigeria. • Worked with Chevron in Angola/Malongo BBLT Lianzi Field. • Supported CNR International at the Ivory Coast Baobab Field
