Title of the thesis: Identification and characterization of novel components involved in peroxisome biogenesis in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Project: Characterization of Hepatitis E virus putative helicase protein Cloning, expression, and purification of HEV helicase domain protein by various chromatographic techniques, detection of protein by immunological methods (western blot, ECL, etc.), functional characterization by motif deletion mechanism, protein-protein interactions by yeast two-hybrid, enzyme kinetics, inhibition kinetics, standardization of in vitro antiviral assays (radiological and ELISA based assays) etc.

Project: Identification and characterization of novel protease inhibitors Assay development, production, purification and characterization of different (untagged) protease inhibitors (cysteine, serine, and aspartic acid protease inhibitors) by biochemical and biophysical methods (including HPLC, Circular Dichroism, MS, fluorescence spectroscopy, etc.) and determination of their kinetic & thermodynamic parameters.
