Lead the Commodities Team in analysing the global and domestic oil and gas markets. Advice Top Management in internal policy-making decisions and external engagements with various counterparts. Shape the Central Bank’s views of the global energy market, the outlook for global commodity prices, as well as growth prospects of the domestic commodities sector.

Assess the Malaysian construction sector, with a focus on the housing market, commercial property and public infrastructure sectors. Spearhead the formulation of property market policies and advice the Government in managing the affordable housing and commercial property markets. Key person in providing economic assessment of major economies, with experience in multiple markets including Europe, China and Asia.

Undertake surveillance and research of the Asian markets (i.e. Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines). Provide comprehensive analyses on issues of relevance to Malaysia, including subsidy rationalisation, structural reforms and regional integration. Draft various internal and external reports and write-ups for Central Bank publications.

Highlight issues of concern to the Top Management to facilitate decision-making process. Work in close collaboration with the team to formulate the Central Bank’s communication of critical information and policies.
