PPGI is a novel technique for assessment of dermal perfusion, which is the concept of contactless data acquisition and digital processing of virtual perfusion maps. The measurement principle is based on the assessment of optical attenuation of the skin, which is directly related to the blood contents in the dermis. The frequencies are calculated and treated by using “Matlab” from a short video that captured the skin regions of interest. The abnormal skin regions thus could be isolated accurately.
