Worked on a greenfield project in the e-payment Cloud space

I built a trading platform for Barrier Reverse Convertibles(FX); participated in the development of an FX trading platform, (Synthetic FX liquidity); enriched FX trades and calculated Synthetic FX rates. Since the system spanned different geographical locations and suppliers, I was also part of the international product development team. I also provided for different GUI components and created configuration software. and provided for high-speed simulation software assisting portfolio managers.

As part of a team, I worked on the integration (DB level) of two trading systems covering Equities, Funds, Bonds and warrants. These systems were using divergent technologies: C#-Java-Oracle in one system and Java-c++-Sybase in the other. Special care was taken to allow for extensive unit and integration testing using dbUnit. I additionally did some GUI development using C#/WPF.

I participated in the creation of a FIX-enabled gateway (written mainly in Java) to a newly created Derivatives Trading System. This entailed providing FIX software connectivity to client-side parties interested in trading Derivatives or allowing these entities to connect their OMS (Order Management System) electronically to Patsystems' Trading System.

I participated in and led a team of 12 developers spread across 3 continents (Europe, Asia, North America) to create TradingScreen's Fixed Income EMS: a trading platform dealing in vanilla OTC debt instruments and which is connected to different brokers. My part of the development in this project concentrated on the software connections to these parties. This included a real-time pricing server (written in C#) that provided market data for Debt instruments and a real-time trading gateway (C#, Java).

Main Projects: a. The re-engineering project of a fairly large back-office system (15 million code lines), targeting EJB and ASP.NET – AJAX (C#) environments. I headed this project and created the overall system architecture, but also developed the EJB, Web-service and ASP.NET - AJAX framework code which was used by all modules in the total system. b. EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) projects.

When I joined the company, the sales department was struggling to sell its settlement systems. Because of this, I urged upper management to take a different, more modern technological direction: MIS only had a Cobol, terminal-based system at that time. The proposed system was an Oracle-Unix/Windows system with Windows clients. After the board gave the go-ahead for this project, I recruited a team of specialists to forward the above.
