Freelance Electrical Engineer/ Project Manager

• Leading the regional management team in charge of sub-transmission & distribution assets supplying various customer categories inclusive of residential, commercial, agricultural and industrial. • Implementation of distribution network designs from township master plans for both internal and Rural Electrification Authority (REA) projects • Safety, Health, Environment and Quality management. • Project planning and management of projects at 132kV to 0.4kV voltage levels

• Designing of technical specifications for various types of electrical switch gear. • Performing system studies/calculations for electrical power systems; • Reviewing electrical installation drawings for compliance with company and/or project requirements; Single line diagrams, electrical equipment location drawings, plan drawings, schematic wiring diagrams, etc. for project installation purposes. • ZESCO Test Engineer representative for Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)

• EPC overall project coordination for IMS component of Enterprise-wide Integrated Business Information System (BIS) Project . Tasks included distribution network survey and data collection; design and modelling of the electricity networks for four operating distribution divisions in the company. • Capacity building program (training and resourcing of ZESCO senior management, operations and maintenance personnel in the application of IMS in faults and network outage management).

• Defects and outage management of the distribution network (33kV, 11kV, 3.3kV and 0.4kV) in the region. • Monitoring and analysis of distribution equipment failures in coordination with the operational and faults’ units and proposing improvements in technical specifications. • Performing system studies/calculations for electrical power systems; Planning and budgeting for operations and maintenance inclusive of short-term system reinforcement projects for the region.

• area management of distribution assets supplying various customer categories inclusive of residential, commercial, agricultural and industrial, and export into Congo DR. • Managing commercial customer service functions of meter reading, billing, revenue collection, inspectorate, faults resolution and customer queries • Implementation of preventive, corrective and condition monitoring based maintenance on lines and substation equipment

• Annual preventive maintenance program of several MV/LV distribution transformers, HV outdoor and indoor switchgear. • Defects and outage management of the distribution network (33kV, 11kV, 3.3kV and 0.4kV) in the region • Planning and budgeting for operations and maintenance inclusive of short-term system reinforcement projects for the region.

• Overall coordination of EPC Copperbelt Distribution Rehabilitation Project (CDRP) funded by World Bank (IDA) and the Development Bank of South Africa (DBSA) for US$14.5Million (Kitwe Distribution network) and US$9.6Million (Ndola Distribution network) for new/rehabilitation of 33kV, 11kV, 3.3kV and 0.4kV switchgear.

• Capacity building program (Acquired knowledge in surface and underground power distribution systems whilst working for ZCCM; modern protective relaying, substation engineering, and system design practices) while working in liaison with power system economists, planning and design, power system protection, operation and maintenance Engineers.
