PhD subject: Needle comanipulation with haptic guidance for percutaneous interventions Role: design haptic guides for making the gesture of needle insertion more accurate than manual manipulation. The needle was comanipulated by a physician and a haptic interface. Training courses about Virtual and Augmented Reality, as well as project management (Agile methodology). I was the project manager and a developer on four student projects in multidisciplinary teams of five, which led to the creation of four AR and VR applications.

Created with my supervisor a novel compression algorithm for High Dynamic Range (HDR) videos, which exploits luminance masking. This phenomenon occurs when the human eye is blinded by some very bright areas in an image, leading to less sensitivity to details in dark neighbouring regions. Coarser compression can be used in those areas. Patent published: Method and apparatus for quantization in video encoding and decoding (number: US15755460, date: 09/06/2018)

Implemented clock and data recovery circuits on an FPGA board.
