Contracted by Vodafone/Fujitsu to work on their fixed line service provider network in various data centres located across the UK. This role involves: • The planning, installation and configuration of network devices • Taking ownership of problems and troubleshooting in a logical manner, communication with NOC to bring faults to resolution • Administering and maintaining fibre optic OTN networks consisting of Nortel and Ciena optical transmission equipment

Served with 4 Rifles, qualified as a Regimental signaller. Duties included maintaining and installing vehicle and man-pack based bowman systems (VHF 354 and HF 325 radios), operated and maintained UHF data-based positioning systems. Other duties included installing copper and fibre cables for systems in temporary locations, equipment maintenance and testing, account management and using computer systems to log equipment states.
