Primary Purpose of the Role
As the Global Brand Manager for Abbott’s Diabetes Portfolio, you will guide the development and execution of strategic global brand and marketing plans that elevate our Diabetes brands worldwide. In this role, you will shape long‑term brand strategy, collaborate closely with regional and affiliate teams, and ensure that global initiatives are delivered with clarity, alignment, and purpose. Your work will directly contribute to improving patient outcomes while driving sustainable, meaningful business impact across diverse markets.
What You Will Do
Strategic Marketing Leadership
Develop and champion forward-looking, cross functional brand plans that support Abbott’s Global Diabetes Portfolio.
Identify emerging trends, prioritize key opportunities, and ensure strategies reflect patient, provider, and market needs.
Insights & Customer Understanding
Lead market insights and research initiatives to uncover unmet needs and enhance the overall customer and patient experience.
Translate these insights into actionable strategies that guide marketing programs globally.
Brand Positioning & Differentiation
Shape compelling, differentiated global brand positioning with clear, resonant messaging for key partners and stakeholders.
Set meaningful, inspiring objectives that align with Abbott’s purpose and long-term vision.
Integrated Marketing Programs
Design and oversee integrated multichannel marketing programs aimed at engaging healthcare professionals, pharmacists, and patients.
Ensure approaches are customer centric, inclusive, and accessible across diverse markets.
Global Launch Excellence
Lead comprehensive launch plans for new global diabetes brands.
Partner closely with affiliates to ensure alignment, readiness, and successful execution.
Collaboration with Affiliates
Work closely with local marketing and commercial teams, offering guidance, coaching, and support.
Build strong partnerships to ensure consistent brand execution across markets.
Brand Stream Leadership
Lead the Diabetes Brand Stream and collaborate cross‑functionally to deliver key business priorities.
Develop and implement life‑cycle management strategies and prepare business cases for senior leadership.
Budget Stewardship
Manage the promotional budget thoughtfully, ensuring strategic investment and strong ROI across initiatives.
Performance Tracking
Establish clear monitoring processes and performance dashboards.
Provide transparent, solutions‑oriented monthly updates to senior management.
Best Practice Sharing
Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning by facilitating knowledge‑sharing across regions.
What We’re Looking For
Education
University degree (Science or Business preferred).
MBA or postgraduate marketing qualification is a plus, but not required.
Experience
Experience managing global or regional Cardiometabolic (Cardio or Diabetes) brands.
Experience with GLP‑1 brands (e.g., from Novo Nordisk or Eli Lilly) is highly valued.
Candidates with biosimilars experience are also welcome to apply.
Languages
Fluency in English required.
Additional languages (Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin) are a plus.

Strategic thinking with the ability to connect insights, market dynamics, and customer needs.
Strong brand building and long-range planning capability.
Experience with launches and portfolio expansion.
Ability to engage customers across multiple channels.
Strong financial and analytical capabilities.

Key Competencies
Experience managing diabetes or innovator portfolios (GLP‑1 experience preferred).
Strong understanding of global or emerging markets (LatAm, Asia, Middle East & Africa).
Collaborative mindset with experience working in matrix organizations.
Ability to influence and build positive, productive relationships across teams.
Proactive, thoughtful problem‑solver with a strategic yet practical approach.
