To strengthen our Engineering Team, we are looking for a
Fullstack Engineer- AWS, TypeScript, Java, Spring Boot, React, Next.js (m/f/d)
(Hybrid in Cologne or remote in Berlin / Full-time / Permanent contract)
As a Fullstack Engineer in our Consumer Domain, you will help shape the experience of millions of consumers using Trusted Shops products. Working within the Consumer Membership Team, you will focus on expanding existing backend services and building new ones within our AWS landscape while contributing to frontend applications where needed. You will be part of a cross-functional product team that includes Software Engineers, QA, Product Manager, Agile Coach, and Growth experts, all working together to improve the consumer experience through experimentation, fast feedback loops, and data-driven decisions.
Following our "You build it, you own it” philosophy, you will take ownership of solutions throughout their full lifecycle, from development to production and continuous improvement.
Your Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs within our AWS-based cloud architecture
Build modern, high-quality frontend applications using React, Next.js, and TypeScript to create seamless user experiences
Take ownership of features throughout the entire software lifecycle - from implementation and deployment to monitoring and production support
Improve infrastructure automation, scalability, and reliability using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions and drive technical excellence.
Foster a collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge, communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders, and resolving challenges constructively.
Dein Profil
Your Profile
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Media Informatics, or a related field -or equivalent practical experience
3+ years of professional experience as a Fullstack Software Engineer
Strong backend development experience with TypeScript, Java, Spring Boot, or comparable technologies
Solid frontend development skills with React, Next.js, and TypeScript
Hands-on experience building, deploying, and operating cloud-native applications on AWS (e.g., Lambda, ECS, or similar services). Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools is a strong plus.
Proven experience using AI-powered development tools (e.g., Claude or similar) to accelerate software development, testing, debugging, and documentation, while critically evaluating and validating AI-generated outputs.
Collaborative, proactive, and curious mindset with a passion for continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and mentoring teammates.
Business-fluent English skills. German language skills are a plus

Programming Languages
Java: Java wird von einigen unserer Tech-Teams verwendet und unterstützt uns bei Komponenten mit komplexer Logik, meist in Kombination mit Spring Boot
TypeScript: Wir verwenden TypeScript in Kombination mit dem Framework React im Frontend und auch serverseitig mit NodeJS

PostgreSQL / MySQL: Wenn die Flexibilität des Datenzugriffs im Vordergrund steht, dann setzen wir auch relationale Datenbanken ein

Im Moment arbeiten wir an einem neuen großen Projekt über Benutzerverwaltung und Berechtigungen, das interessant, aber auch komplex ist und viele Aspekte umfasst, so dass es in andere Komponenten integriert werden könnte. Mir gefällt es sehr, dass wir Entwickler innerhalb des Teams entscheiden können, welche Technologie und Programmiersprache wir verwenden wollen und wie wir die Prozesse strukturieren. Das kann manchmal eine Herausforderung sein, aber es hilft, viele neue Erfahrungen zu sammeln. Alles, was ich noch lernen möchte, kann ich in Selbstlerntagen bearbeiten. Und natürlich haben wir eine sehr freundliche und offene Arbeitsatmosphäre. Dazu tragen auch teambildende Veranstaltungen und Mob-/Pair-Programming-Sessions bei.

Ich arbeite im Moment im Review Insights Team. In diesem Produktteam arbeiten wir an Frontends, die unseren Kund*innen, also Onlinehändler*innen, dabei helfen aus den gesammelten Bewertungen wertvolle Informationen zu ziehen. Bei mir im Team ist eine weitere Kollegin aus dem Frontend-Team mit welcher ich eng zusammenarbeite. Das fängt bei der Planung und Diskussion von Lösungsansätzen an und endet bei gemeinsamer Überarbeitung des geschriebenen Codes. Insgesamt ist die Arbeitsatmosphäre bei Trusted Shops sehr angenehm und locker. Jedes Produktteam kann bei uns dank einer eigens entwickelten Plattform-Lösung eigene Micro-Frontends bauen und ist somit unabhängig von den anderen Produktteams. Dadurch ist man beispielsweise bei der Wahl des Frameworks nicht eingeschränkt - es werden jedoch hauptsächlich die gängigen JavaScript-Frameworks verwendet. Die persönliche Weiterentwicklung wird auch gefördert. So konnte ich in diesem Jahr bereits an einer einwöchigen Summer School zum Thema Deep Learning teilnehmen und grundsätzlich steht uns ein Tag im Monat zur Verfügung, um uns nach eigenem Gusto weiterbilden zu können.
