We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Operations Manager to lead the delivery of a vibrant outdoor food and drink concept at the Humboldt Forum in Berlin.
Running from May through to October Wednesday to Sunday each week, this seasonal activation will bring together six independent food traders alongside a 20-foot container bar, creating a dynamic and high-quality destination for visitors.
This role is well-suited to someone who is hungry to get involved with KERB, with a keen eye for detail, good communication skills, understanding Health & Safety principles, and previous experience of operating & planning events and projects at scale, week-in-week-out. You will have managed teams and enjoy managing lots of stakeholders.
What you'll be doing
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the summer activation, ensuring smooth and efficient service across all trading days
- Manage and support a curated line-up of six food traders, maintaining strong relationships and consistent standards
- Lead the operation of the container bar, including staffing, stock control, and service delivery
- Ensure the site is presented to a high standard at all times, reflecting the quality and reputation of the Humboldt Forum
- Work closely with traders to uphold best-in-class food quality, safety, and compliance
- Liaising effectively with KERB traders and venue contacts to include site planning, power, H&S and other operational issues throughout the event.
- Performing H&S checks on our bars and food traders to ensure they are meeting KERB standards.
- Coordinate site logistics, including set-up, breakdown, and ongoing maintenance
- Monitor performance against revenue and operational KPIs, taking action to optimise trading where needed
- Collaborate with internal teams and partners to support marketing, programming, and audience engagement
- Ensure all activities are compliant with local regulations, licensing, and health & safety requirements
Voraussetzungen
What you'll bring to KERB
- Proven experience in events, hospitality, or street food market operations
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
- A hands-on, proactive approach with a focus on operational excellence
- Passion for food, drink, and cultural experiences
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment
- Fluent in English (German is highly desirable)
