Diese Aufgaben warten auf Sie:
- Deliver design solutions for components, complex assemblies, and whole-engine applications, ensuring safety, manufacturability, product performance, and physical robustness. Designs should also optimise unit cost, lifecycle cost, weight, maintainability, and repairability
- Produce engineering definitions that meet the requirements of key stakeholders, including manufacturing teams (internal and external), project customers, airframers, partners, and analysis teams, using both conventional design approaches and Model-Based Definition (MBD) methodologies within a Model-Based Environment (MBE).
- Develop and utilise automated and integrated engineering toolsets. Where repeat design activities are anticipated, create automated workflows that leverage standard features, assessments, and design practices to optimise component definition, manufacturing, and measurement processes
- Drive the elimination of non-conformances, support zero-defect objectives, and improve producibility by analysing programme and customer requirements, integrating manufacturing and measurement capability into design solutions, and applying lean engineering principles such as standardisation and best practice design methodologies
- Apply Robust Design principles, Systems Engineering practices, Risk Management techniques (including xFMEA), and Design-in-Context methodologies to achieve right-first-time design outcomes
- Ensure quality and compliance through the verification and review of design documents, models, and drawings in accordance with RRMS technical requirements and proactive quality assurance principles
- Perform engineering analyses using formula-based calculations and automated workflows to support component dimensioning and design validation activities, including assessments of stability, stiffness, profiles, balance, and weight. Apply appropriate analytical methods, tools, and engineering judgement to validate design solutions against requirements
- Create and maintain technical documentation in compliance with engineering processes, knowledge management requirements, information governance standards, and data management policies
- Support through-life Supply Chain Design and lifecycle profitability for mature product fleets through activities such as non-conformance management, drawing alteration requests, repair instructions, engine manual updates, and Technical Variant (TV) development
- Plan, manage, and oversee externally sourced design activities delivered by engineering service providers and suppliers, ensuring effective execution, design approval, and compliance of all associated documentation
- Manage product configuration and maintain the integrity, quality, and accuracy of engineering data throughout the product lifecycle.
- Execute sub-system integration activities, applying Systems Engineering and Robust Design methodologies to ensure that all technical attributes of the design meet agreed requirements and stakeholder expectations
Was Sie mitbringen sollten:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or an equivalent regional qualification and/or relevant industry experience
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical design methodologies, supported by a broad understanding of cross-functional engineering disciplines, including manufacturing engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis, cost engineering, and product definition
- Demonstrated ability to apply logical, analytical, and innovative thinking to solve complex technical challenges, balancing technical excellence with business and programme requirements
- Knowledge and practical understanding of product integrity, product liability, and certification frameworks
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and complex engineering environments, delivering high-quality outcomes to challenging timescales
