With our client, a globally operating pharmaceutical company headquartered in the Frankfurt area, we are seeking an experienced professional to lead Medical Affairs Operations and Excellence at global level.
This position plays a central role in shaping how Global Medical Affairs operates across regions and functions. The focus lies on strengthening operational structures, driving digital transformation and enabling efficient execution of global medical activities.
Working closely with the Head of Global Medical Affairs and senior stakeholders across the organization, you will help advance operational excellence initiatives, implement modern digital tools and ensure that Medical Affairs activities are executed efficiently, consistently and compliantly.
The role combines strategic development with hands on operational leadership and includes responsibility for a small international team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and further develop the Medical Affairs Operations and Excellence function within a global Medical Affairs organization
Manage and develop a team covering Medical Education, Medical Information and Medical Operations
Drive operational excellence initiatives across global Medical Affairs, focusing on scalable processes and efficient execution
Lead digital transformation initiatives within Medical Affairs, including the implementation and optimization of digital platforms and tools such as Veeva based solutions
Advance omnichannel and digital engagement capabilities within Medical Affairs
Design and establish global frameworks for medical training and capability development
Strengthen Medical Information services and knowledge management structures
Ensure compliance, quality standards and audit readiness across global medical operations
Act as a trusted partner to senior internal stakeholders across Medical Affairs, Marketing and R&D
Support the continued evolution of the global Medical Affairs organization by identifying opportunities to improve collaboration, processes and systems
Your Profile
University degree in life sciences, healthcare, pharmacy or a related scientific discipline
Approximately ten or more years of professional experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
Strong background in areas such as Medical Operations, Medical Operational Excellence, Clinical Operations, Medical Education or Medical Information
Experience driving operational improvements, digital initiatives or system implementations in complex organizational environments
Proven leadership experience with responsibility for teams or project-based leadership
Ability to operate confidently in a global stakeholder environment and collaborate with senior internal partners
Experience working in internationally operating pharmaceutical organizations
Strong communication skills in English required, German language skills are beneficial
Willingness to work regularly onsite in the Frankfurt area and travel internationally when required
