DuPont Adhesives sucht einen Laboranten (100%) für die Entwicklung von strukturellen Klebstoffen im europäischen Kompetenz-Zentrum Freienbach, im Großraum Zürich, Schweiz. Das Forschungs- & Entwicklungszentrum in Freienbach ist mit F&E-, technischen Service- und Analyselaboren sowie Anwendungs- und Scale-up Anlagen ausgestattet, um alle Entwicklungsaktivitäten vom Design, der Synthese und Charakterisierung von Prepolymeren, der Mischung von Klebstoffen, dem Scale-up, der Leistungsanalyse bis hin zur vollindustriellen Anwendung von Klebstoffen abzudecken. Dies dient dazu, die Transformation zur E-Mobilität und Nachhaltigkeit in der globalen Automobil- und Transportindustrie durch die Entwicklung und Kommerzialisierung von Klebstoffen und Verarbeitungswerkstoffen zu unterstützen und voranzutreiben.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten:

• Entwicklung von semi-strukturellen und strukturellen Klebstoffen für Karosseriebau und Batterieanwendungen in der Automobilindustrie, insbesondere im E-Mobilitätssektor.

• Unterstützung der Fertigung und Unterstützung während der kommerziellen Markteinführung der Technologien gemäß den Produktkommerzialisierungsprozessen von DuPont.

Wissen, Fachkenntnisse und Fähigkeiten:

• Ausbildung als Laborant, idealerweise im Bereich der Chemie oder einem verwandten Bereich ist eine Voraussetzungen.

• Erfahrung und Kenntnisse auf Polyurethan und Epoxidharz basierenden Klebstofftechnologien sind von Vorteil.

• Erfahrung in der Automobilindustrie ist von Vorteil.

• Erfahrung in Projektmanagement-Tools und -Prozessen ist von Vorteil.

• Selbstmotivierte, agile Person mit ausgezeichneten zwischenmenschlichen Fähigkeiten, die in der Zusammenarbeit für hervorragende Ergebnisse mit internen und externen Interessengruppen aufgeht.

• Sprachkenntnisse in Deutsch sind Voraussetzung, Sprachkenntnisse in Englisch werden geschätzt.

Verantwortung und Einfluss:

• Unabhängige herstellung Gestaltung von Klebstoffrezepten mit minimaler Aufsicht des Projektleiters.

• Vorbereitung (Mischung) von Klebstoffrezepten gemäß verfügbaren Prozessstandards, einschließlich Unterstützung bei Scale-up Aktivitäten.

• Vollständig unabhängige Tests und Leistungscharakterisierung der Klebstoffe gemäß den Spezifikationen der Automobilkunden.

• Vollständig unabhängige Dokumentation der Rezepte und der Ergebnisse basierend auf verfügbaren Vorlagen.

• Vorbereitung von Kundenpräsentationen in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Projektleiter.

• Beitrag zur Dokumentation des geistigen Eigentums.

• Hauptsächlich unabhängige Zusammenfassung und Bewertung der Projektergebnisse in Laborberichten und internen wissenschaftlichen Veröffentlichungen in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Projektleiter.

• Durchführung aller praktischen Arbeiten in vollem Einklang mit den EH&S (Umwelt, Gesundheit und Sicherheit) Standards von DuPont.

• Proaktive Mitwirkung an kontinuierlichen Verbesserungen der Sicherheits- und Sauberkeitsstandards.

DuPont Adhesives is looking for a laboratory technician (100%) for the development of structural adhesives at the European Competence Center in Freienbach, in the Greater Zurich area, Switzerland. The research and development center in Freienbach is equipped with R&D, technical service and analytical laboratories as well as application and scale‑up facilities to cover all development activities—from the design, synthesis and characterization of prepolymers, to adhesive mixing, scale‑up, performance testing, and full industrial‑scale adhesive application. This supports and drives the transformation toward e‑mobility and sustainability in the global automotive and transportation industry through the development and commercialization of adhesives and process materials.

Main Responsibilities:

• Development of semi‑structural and structural adhesives for body shop and battery applications in the automotive industry, particularly in the e‑mobility sector.

• Support of manufacturing and support during the commercial launch of technologies in accordance with DuPont’s product commercialization processes.

Knowledge, Expertise and Skills:

• Training as a laboratory technician, ideally in chemistry or a related field, is required.

• Experience and knowledge in polyurethane‑ and epoxy‑based adhesive technologies are an advantage.

• Experience in the automotive industry is an advantage.

• Experience in project management tools and processes is an advantage.

• A self‑motivated, agile person with excellent interpersonal skills who thrives on collaboration to achieve outstanding results with internal and external stakeholders.

• German language skills are required; English language skills are appreciated.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office is an important requirement for project documentation.

Accountability and Influence:

• Independent formulation of adhesive recipes with minimal supervision from the project leader.

• Preparation (mixing) of adhesive recipes according to available process standards, including support for scale‑up activities.

• Fully independent testing and performance characterization of adhesives according to automotive customer specifications.

• Fully independent documentation of recipes and results based on available templates.

• Preparation of customer presentations in collaboration with the project leader.

• Contribution to intellectual property documentation.

• Predominantly independent summarization and evaluation of project results in laboratory reports and internal scientific publications, in collaboration with the project leader.

• Execution of all practical work in full compliance with DuPont EH&S (Environment, Health & Safety) standards.

• Proactive contribution to continuous improvement of safety and cleanliness standards.

• Contribution to project milestone meetings in line with DuPont’s product commercialization processes.

Decision‑Making and Problem‑Solving Skills:

• Proactive and independent development of technology improvements based on the evaluation of adhesive prototypes against customer specifications and project requirements.

• Definition of product specification limits and provision of guidance on manufacturing process standards in line with DuPont’s product commercialization processes.

• Direct customer contact and communication to enhance the effectiveness of innovative product development for key customers, in close collaboration with the account manager.
