Organisational Unit
This PhD position at the Institute of Biochemistry is in the field of protein biochemistry and computational protein/enzyme design with the aim of increasing enzyme production yields. The project aims to evaluate and adapt modern machine learning-based sequence design algorithms to develop a robust, generalizable method for improving the production yield and stability of recombinant proteins. We will use these tools to improve the production and stability of two model enzymes. These are difficult to produce in bacterial systems but have great potential for biocatalysis.
The Institute consists of 4 interacting research groups with different expertise that share their experience and tools to better understand different aspects of enzymes.
