The Institute of Electronics (IFE) was founded in 1963 and is one of the oldest academic research and educational institutions in the country. It is part of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and co-operates with many institutes and research facilities. It is closely linked to the surrounding semiconductor and automotive industries. Our expertise and experience extends from the system level down to the IC level and covers research areas in the field of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of ICs and electronic systems, electronic circuit design, electronic metrology, electronics under stress conditions and robust analogue IC design. The institute offers an excellent infrastructure for the design, analysis, simulation and EMC characterisation of electronic circuits and systems.
Join the team of the Institute of Electronics and conduct research on
- Robust IC design
- Electromagnetic Compatibility of electronic system
- Protection of circuits against electrostatic discharge
- Power electronic EMC
- Machine learning based EMC and antenna design.
The specific PhD position is part of the Christian Doppler Laboratory. The research topic is the analysis, design and simulation of electronic systems and integrated circuits which are robust against electrostatic discharge. This includes high speed measurements, creation of models both at circuit level and using electromagnetic tools and the application of machine learning for modeling and optimization.
