Senior CAD/PLM Engineer - Tool Automation & Process Optimization (m/f/d)

Your Tasks

• Act as the central technical expert and point of contact for CAD and PLM-related topics within our Design & Integration department.
• Explore and leverage the advanced capabilities of Siemens NX to optimize engineering workflows and better fulfill technical and stakeholder requirements.
• Identify, develop and implement improvements to existing CAD/PLM tools, processes and working methods to enhance efficiency, productivity and design quality.
• Develop and implement automation solutions, macros and customized Siemens NX tools to simplify repetitive tasks and support daily engineering activities.
• Provide technical support to new employees and advanced user support for complex CAD/PLM-related questions and challenges.
• Support and collaborate closely with existing CAD/PLM key users, enabling them to focus more effectively on their core engineering and design responsibilities.
• Develop and deliver technical training materials, E-Learning modules and user guidelines according to the needs of the engineering teams.
• Define, standardize and document internal CAD/PLM processes, workflows and best practices to ensure consistent and efficient ways of working.
• Act as a technical interface between engineering teams and IT, coordinating system-related requirements and supporting the implementation of technical improvements.
• Explore emerging technologies, including AI-based applications, and identify opportunities to further automate and enhance engineering processes across different projects.

Your Profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical field.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in mechanical engineering, CAD/PLM applications or engineering tool development.
• Deep technical expertise and extensive hands-on experience with Siemens NX, including advanced functionalities and their application in mechanical design environments.
• Good knowledge of PLM systems, preferably Siemens Teamcenter, and an understanding of CAD/PLM integration and engineering data management.
• Practical experience in developing CAD automation solutions, macros, scripts or customized engineering tools.
• Solid understanding of 3D CAD modelling, mechanical design processes and the integration of complex components and assemblies.
• Experience in optimizing engineering workflows, defining technical standards and documenting processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying improvement opportunities and implementing practical solutions.
• Ability to work independently as a technical expert while effectively collaborating with different engineering teams, key users and IT stakeholders.
• Strong communication and knowledge-sharing skills, with the ability to support and train users with different levels of technical expertise.
• Interest in digitalization, automation and innovative technologies that improve engineering efficiency.
• Fluent English communication skills and willingness to travel occasionally between company locations.
