Head of NatCat
Your tasks:
- Responsible for the continuous development and implementation of NatCat tools and processes used in Underwriting, including regular dialogs with stakeholders from functional domains (Underwriting, Analytics, HRC, Risk Management)
- Generation of ideas, prioritization, testing and implementation of insight-driven NatCat solutions to improve decision making in Underwriting
- Development and expansion of NatCat infrastructure i.r.o. pricing, accumulation control and real event analysis
- Driving the development and commercialization of our own in-house Geo information system (ARGOS)
- Technical and disciplinary leadership of the home office NatCat team
- Presenting results and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management, reinsurers and external partners and customers
Your profile:
- Successfully completed studies in business economics/mathematics/science with a strong interest in analytics or an equivalent degree
- Professional experience in the NatCat domain
- Strong strategic and visionary thinking to develop long-term goals and vision, based on the strategic directions
- High level of determination and focus on execution
- Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and lead a team to achieve common goals
- Excellent communication, teamwork and coordination skills for effective collaboration with various stakeholders as well as project coordination
- Experience with GIS, databases and data analysis. Programming skills in R and SQL are an advantage
- Strong personal initiative and commitment, entrepreneurial thinking and assertiveness
- Very good written and spoken English and German skills
