"Research for a life without cancer" is our mission at the German Cancer Research Center. We investigate how cancer develops, identify cancer risk factors and look for new cancer prevention strategies. We develop new methods with which tumors can be diagnosed more precisely and cancer patients can be treated more successfully. Every contribution counts – whether in research, administration or infrastructure. This is what makes our daily work so meaningful and exciting.

The Junior Research Group "Mechanisms of Genome Control" headed by Dr. Angelika Feldmann is seeking for the next possible date a

Our research group has a range of exciting projects available with considerable preliminary data. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a PhD student in the area of enhancer-dependent gene regulation. You will have the opportunity to actively contribute to developing our research vision and benefit from extensive mentoring.

The successful candidate will carry out an exciting project in the area of enhancer-driven gene regulation and the role of promoter contacts in this process. This project will employ a range of advanced (epi-)genomic, genome engineering and computational techniques established in our new lab, and the successful candidates will be encouraged to develop national and international collaborations. The candidate will be invited to actively contribute to developing the project’s direction so that it suits their passion.
