Join our Wireless team and drive innovation that matters! We are seeking entry-level RF applications engineers to join our customer-facing technical team for Apple in Germany.
This small team of extraordinary engineers designs and produces precision RF test equipment for use in calibrating and testing cellular, WiFi, BT, mmWave, UWB and NFC radios in millions of iPhones, iPads, Macs, Vision, Watches and AirPods. All members of the team bring their own unique expertise to collectively take internal Apple products from concept to mass production. Each internal product is designed to Apple's exacting standards resulting in test equipment that maintains the quality, accuracy and function of commercially available offerings.

Description
We are looking for an entry-level RF Application Engineer with an understanding in RF and wireless signal processing, communication theory, RF test systems and object-oriented software development practices.
This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills and excellent communication to ensure customer success and drive product adoption for the growing Instrument Engineering team at Apple.
Responsibilities
- The role involves working very closely with cellular development engineers as a local technical expert of our internal RF test equipment.
- The candidate will be supporting end users from early engagements to feature delivery.
- The role involves active troubleshooting and advising users how to optimize their setups and tests.
- The candidate will work under the guidance of senior team members, learning to write automation software and debug issues while building expertise in RF measurements, signal processing and software development.
- The candidate will work alongside experienced RF engineers, assist with troubleshooting, debugging and participating in demonstrations.
- International and domestic travel up to 15% is required
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent understanding of RF fundamentals, DSP and communications theory
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience with RF measurements
- Knowledge of cellular 4G LTE and 5G NR RF parameters such as EVM and ACLR
- Strong experience in at least one of these languages: Python, C++ or Matlab
- Experience writing object oriented software
- Bachelor’s degree is needed, and we highly value Master’s or above. Relevant disciplines include Electrical Engineering, Maths and Physics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry experience or equivalent is preferred
- Internship experience in RF engineering, wireless communications or related fields
- Academic research projects involving RF systems, signal processing or wireless communication
- Laboratory experience with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal analyzers, vector signal generator, vector network analyzers)
- Familiarity with RF test equipment vendors (Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz, National Instruments, LitePoint, Anritsu)
- Recent experience with data analysis of RF parameters
- Familiarity with wireless communication standards (LTE, 5G NR, WiFi, Bluetooth)
