About the Role
As the Senior Client Manager for Life & Health in the Nordic region, you will be the primary interface between Swiss Re and its reinsurance clients across the Nordic region. This strategic role is pivotal in strengthening Swiss Re’s market presence and delivering client-centric solutions. The role is based in Munich and reports to the Head Client Management Germany and Nordics.
Key Responsibilities
- Your serve as the key point of contact for Swiss Re’s L&H clients in the Nordics/Germany, ensuring seamless communication and service delivery.
- You build and nurture long-term client relationships, positioning Swiss Re as the preferred reinsurance partner in the region.
- You develop and execute growth strategies for both existing and prospective clients, driving business expansion and innovation.
- You own and manage client accounts, with full responsibility for financial performance across in-force portfolios and new business opportunities.
- You establish and maintain a robust professional network within the Nordic/German insurance market to identify and pursue opportunities across Swiss Re’s strategic pillars: Core, Solutions, and Transactions.
- You lead cross-functional teams to deliver tailored solutions and support complex client engagements.
- You represent Swiss Re at client meetings, industry events, conferences, and professional bodies, acting as a brand ambassador.
About the Team
You will be joining a dynamic and highly motivated team of professionals that are keen to deliver results and help shape the future of Swiss Re's business. As Munich L&H hub we are part of an interconnected Continental European L&H team as well as a global L&H community. The team is highly diverse, comprising different functions relevant to serving our clients, including Client Management, Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims, and Medical. The working environment is fast-paced, collaborative, intellectually stimulating and challenging – and all this with a good pinch of fun.
You are a dynamic and strategic professional with a strong foundation in the international Life & Health insurance or reinsurance industry. You thrive in client-facing roles, enjoy building long-term partnerships, and are motivated by driving impactful results in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- You bring at least 5 years of experience in the Life & Health insurance or reinsurance sector, a plus to have Germany and/or Nordic market exposure.
- You possess strong analytical capabilities that enable you to interpret market dynamics, anticipate emerging trends, and understand evolving client needs, translating insights into actionable strategies for both individual clients and the broader market.
- You have a proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and project teams, demonstrating your ability to align diverse stakeholders and deliver results.
- You are self-driven, commercially minded, and eager to identify new opportunities. Your entrepreneurial spirit helps you balance client needs and commercial value for Swiss Re
- You are an effective communicator and negotiator, able to build trust and credibility with clients and colleagues across cultures and seniority levels.
- You hold a university degree in mathematics, business administration, or a related field. An actuarial qualification is a plus.
- You are fluent in English and German (Nordic languages a plus)
For Germany, the base salary range for this position is between EUR 99,000 and EUR 165,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.
Eligibility may vary depending on the terms of Swiss Re policies and your employment contract.
