Your tasks

  • Provide individual counselling and support for students seeking access arrangements due to a chronic illness, disability or neurodivergence.
  • Advise students, faculty and staff on issues relating to accessibility, family friendliness and equal opportunities.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, manage and document cases in alignment with university procedures.
  • Support the DE&I team in operational coordination (20%). This is not a purely administrative role; we want you to actively contribute to the further development of DE&I at HSG.
  • Organise and participate in events and networks related to your areas of work.

Your profile

  • A higher education degree in psychology, social work or social sciences/DEI
  • Proven experience in counselling, advising and student support
  • Motivation to independently acquire expertise, particularly in the areas of neurodiversity, disabilities and their impact on study/work
  • Commitment to advancing equality and social justice, ideally based on some theoretical knowledge of DEI
  • Very good German and English skills (spoken and written min. C1 proficiency)
  • Affinity to work independently as well as contribute to collaborative team processes within and across units
  • Personal values aligned with self-reflection, integrity, authenticity and empathy
DE&I is the central specialist and advisory unit at HSG for diversity, equity, inclusion, personal integrity, and social sustainability. It supports the University in creating fair, accessible, and discrimination-free study and work environments, and plays a key role in implementing the social dimension of HSG's sustainability strategy. DE&I also fulfils a legal mandate to promote equal opportunities, integrity, and inclusion.
We believe the excellence of HSG is best realised when every kind of talent is fully engaged. For this, we foster HSG's diversity skills, a culture of belonging, and reduce barriers for participation.
Our core responsibilities include

  • Confidential advising on e.g. discrimination and harassment, psychosocial stress, accessibility and access arrangements, and balancing work/study with family life
  • Development of inclusive structures, processes and campus culture
  • Coordination with university units and management of the Equality Committee
  • Networking, knowledge transfer, and external representation on DE&I topics

With a solution-oriented approach, DE&I contributes to quality assurance, legal compliance, and HSG's attractiveness as a place to study and work.
We are looking forward to your online-application stating the job ID 1570

Inspirational Work Environment

At the HSG, as Europe's leading business university, we operate in an entrepreneurial environment where you will meet highly qualified, ambitious experts - both regionally and internationally. For example, you benefit from a modern IT infrastructure and, in our library via HSGswisscovery, from nationwide access to the wealth of scientific information available.

Executive Education

We support internal and external executive education opportunities. Our internal executive education programme offers you a practical, dedicated and didactically mature transfer of knowledge in the form of seminars, e-learning, coaching and collegial advice. We support task-specific external training and executive education financially as well as with regard to the time required.

Network

We promote our culture of cross-functional collaboration and create space for forging valuable relationships - also with external partners. Regular exchanges and internal events help to strengthen these relationships and make them long-lasting.

Family & Career

We provide our employees with flexible work time models with a variable number of hours per week. As a family-friendly employer, we offer part-time positions, 16 weeks of maternity leave and a subsidised crèche, as well as support with childcare during the vacations.

Equal Opportunities

The University enables equal opportunities for all employees and students. This applies to degree courses and work, as well as academic careers, university management positions and the reconciliation of studies, work and private commitments. We are committed to this with various measures in the areas of teaching, research, administration and the Presidency.

Fit and Healthy

We help you stay fit and healthy. In addition to our diverse range of sports activities at the university, most of which are free of charge, and campaign weeks for corporate health management, we also offer you fruit in the workplace. In our canteen you will find a wide selection of freshly prepared meals - from vegetarian to fish dishes - at discounted prices.

Dr. Ella Roininen, Leitung Diversity, Equality & Inclusion

We warmly invite candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply for this multifaceted role, where you will have the opportunity to influence student success and wellbeing, as well as contribute to the future of DE&I initiatives at the university.

Kathrin Bauert, Senior Recruiter

As a supporting HR Business Partner, I would be pleased to welcome you at our University very soon.
