The Service Unit of Cell Culture Core Facility (CCCF) TU Wien is offering a position as Cell culture specialist (all genders) limited unitl expected April 30th, 2027 for 40 hours/week. Expected start: April 2026.

The Service Unit of Cell Culture Core Facility (CCCF) TU Wien is offering a position as Cell culture specialist (all genders) limited unitl expected April 30th, 2027 for 40 hours/week. Expected start: April 2026.
Tasks:
- Continuous improvement of laboratory processes and quality standards, as well as organization of technical laboratory operations
- Responsibility for the maintenance and servicing of all equipment, including coordination of service and calibration work
- Responsible for implementing laboratory maintenance in cooperation with support staff at TU Wien, as well as external service technicians
- Independent supervision of the CCCF’s central equipment, as well as instruction and contact person for users (including training) and practical support in equipment use, measurements, and data analysis; in particular FACS, fluorescence microscopes
- Laboratory management, including planning, ordering, and monitoring of laboratory consumables
- Management of projects in the laboratory and performance of assays and experiments in close cooperation with the scientific management
- Development and performance of assays and experiments tailored to specific needs or scientific questions of users in the areas of cell culture, molecular biological analyses, flow cytometry, and microscopy
- Collaboration on scientific projects
- Active further development of laboratory management and data systems, including planning equipment usage and assisting with central data storage and backup servers

Network development and support for the user community across several faculties at TU Wien. Further development may also include expanding the network to external users from science and industry
Your profile:

Completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in biomedical engineering, biomedical sciences, biology, or related
fields - Proven experience of several years in laboratory work at an academic research institution or in the pharmaceutical industry
- Extensive experience in laboratory management (ordering, obtaining quotes, coordination with external service providers)
- Several years of experience in cell culture (mammalian cells) and molecular biology methods (PCR, Western blotting, ELISA)

In-depth knowledge of FACS devices and fluorescence microscopes; knowledge of histology and PBMC isolation
is an advantage - Willingness to undergo further training
- Willingness/ health suitability to work in an environment with a risk of infection
- Confident manner when dealing with external and internal employees/guests of the CCCF
- Above-average communication skills
- Willingness to participate in meetings
- Very good German and English skills
