30 hours/week Cover for leave of absence

At the Institute of Architecture and Design , in the Research Unit of Design and Theory of Design TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant (prae-doc) until expected November 4th, 2026 or at the latest until the duration of leave of absence for 30 hours/week. Expected start: November 2025.

Tasks:

• Collaboration on research and teaching tasks as well as examinations
• Cooperation and guidance of students
• Research and project activity
• Contribution to publications
• Participation in scientific events
• Assistance/ Collaboration in organizational and administrative tasks

Your profile:

• Completion of a master or diploma curriculum in one of these fields: XX
• Skillful and responsible in experimental work
• Experience in the following scientific fields: architectural and urban design, architectural theory
• Very good skills in English (and possibly German) communication and writing
• Interest in research in the field as well as supervision and work with students
• Very good communicative skills and team competences and innovative ability

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 2,786.10/month gross, 14 times/year for 30 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
