We seek a highly specialised Senior Product Owner with a strong blend of payments functional knowledge, regulatory insight and technology background – anchored in client-centric design principles. This pivotal role drives seamless client experience, robust security and strict compliance within our ongoing digital banking transformation.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about crafting intuitive, accessible and secure payment journeys through human-centred design methodologies, while maintaining rigorous alignment with Swiss and EU regulatory frameworks. With a focus on end-to-end ownership of ePayment solutions, this individual will ensure that every feature delivers tangible value to clients and the bank alike.

YOUR CHALLENGE

• Act as the single point of accountability for digital payment capability, covering eBill, Instant Payment, complaint with regulatory needs

• Apply design thinking and user journey mapping to translate complex regulatory and operational requirements into simple, guided digital interactions that reduce friction and error rates.

• Create client-centric product design by leading collaborative workshops with CX/UX/UI designers to shape intuitive, accessible and efficient payment experiences within the e-Banking platform.

• Define, prioritise, and manage the product backlog using JIRA; creating clear, actionable features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and dependencies following Scrum best practices.

• Define, document, and validate end-to-end business requirements for all payment-related functionalities in the new eBanking platform

• Develop and maintain key artefacts: process flows, RACIs, control matrices, user stories, test scenarios and audit dossiers

• Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, IT Security, and Payment Operations teams to balance usability, security, regulatory and operational adherence

• Support UAT and regulatory testing phases, ensuring all payment controls function as intended before production release

YOUR PROFILE

• 5–7 years’ experience in digital payments, digital banking products, or fintech compliance within a regulated financial institution or payment service provider

• Deep subject-matter expertise in Swiss and European payment schemes and regulations: proven track record working with PSD2, RTS/SCA, eBill legislation, ISO 20022, SEPA Instant Credit Transfer (SCT Inst), SIX Instant Payments, and emerging PSD3 requirements

• Demonstrable experience as a Product Owner in agile projects, ideally within large-scale core banking or e-banking transformation

• Hands-on proficiency with JIRA for backlog management, sprint planning and managing features/user stories dependencies

• Demonstrated ability to write high-quality user stories with clear ‘definition of ready’ and ‘definition of done’, incorporating non-functional requirements such as performance, accessibility and security

• Proven ability to act as the go-to expert on payments topics - able to lead discussions with auditors, regulators, and senior stakeholders

• Experience preparing for and participating in internal and external audits (FINMA, Big Four), with direct responsibility for delivering compliant, traceable documentation packages

• Structured, analytical thinker with exceptional attention to detail; thrives in a controlled environment where precision impacts legal and reputational risk

• Excellent communication and influencing skills - capable of bridging between technical teams, business units, and non-technical control functions

• Certifications such as CPP (Certified Payments Professional), PSPO, CSPO, POPM, or CISSP are strongly valued assets

• Fluency in English is mandatory; solid German language are skills beneficial
