Due to our participation at the European Forum Alpbach and in order to align our homepage with our company’s strategy and products offered we have decided to redesign our homepage. When we were asked to prototype a system/model that is able to predict spoilage due to deviations in paper porosity we thought of it as an intellectual challenge. Maybe some kind of a proof of concept of our predictive maintenance models. Soon we realized that in the process industry (e.g. pulp&paper) spoilage is a big problem because at the point in time when you detect the defect (e.g. wrong paper porosity) your production facility is full with the defective product. This means hours of rework...
With the Hannover trade fair being held from the 7th to the 11th of April, the second week of April was as busy for IPN as the first week. We attended the fair in order to keep up to date with the newest developments in factory automation and industry 4.0. Furthermore, we wanted to get in touch with the big players in the fields of factory automation and software development for the industry. A brief summary “a lot of innovative ideas and pioneering spirit".
