This would enable them to review and solidify their knowledge. Moreover, this would also encourage an environment of knowledge sharing and democratization, that mitigates the impulse to keep knowledge for themselves and to store critical information in “knowl...

While Big Data provides a great volume, as well as a faster and easier capturing of data, the actual knowledge (i.e. learnings) is not so well captured or documented. One of the reasons is that transforming data and information into knowledge often takes place in the heads and is not automatically captured by technology (yet). We, at lisci, aim to take the next step and focus on the management and transfer of knowledge while providing supplementary services. Get in touch with us: bit.ly/3dUd...

According to a study conducted by Microsoft, people lose concentration continuously faster (on average after 8 seconds), highlighting the effects of an increasingly digitized lifestyle on the brain. In Life Sciences, onboarding processes include lengthy text documents, a significant amount of time spent on absorbing knowledge, and rather complex topics. Therefore, it is beneficial to supplement the onboarding processes with more visual and digestible content formats. At lisci, we offer the t...

Opposing the view of mapping human knowledge in tree structures (i.e. medieval knowledge trees), it is much more intricate and interdependent, just like a network: Nonlinear, decentralized, interconnected, interdependent, and multiple. When we look at knowledge management in enterprises, the actual knowledge is often scattered across many different places, decentralized and not fully connected. We, at lisci, have observed this problem extensively. This is why we came up with a solution to get...

Most often the whole learning experience is the “stickiest” once you really need, require or have to apply the knowledge immediately. In comparison, the retention of only passively consuming knowledge is well below 30%. This is why, for instance, Google and YouTube are some of the most common resources when it comes to acquiring knowledge in a fast and effective manner. One person can instantaneously become familiarised with a topic she or he did not know much about just a few minutes ago. Is ...

Why is knowledge management so important? In today’s world, companies need to produce new products, offer new services and innovate in an increasingly shorter amount of time compared to the past. Therefore, the creation, exchange and application of knowledge require continuous cooperation! A few aspects to consider hereby: 1. Organizational culture - employees should be incentivized to share knowledge and should feel encouraged to develop informal networks. 2. Organizational process - capture...

“Throughout their lifetimes, most people learn about 70% of what they need to know through experience.” - Harald Jarche However, this implicit knowledge is often not being documented throughout the years or even decades, which is why a significant share of know-how gets lost once an employee leaves the company. Especially in Life Sciences, where knowledge tends to be rather complex and often niche, it is even more important to preserve it on a continuous basis. We, at lisci, can help you with ...
