Scientific Researcher
Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR)
As part of my PhD research in the DiaQNOS project, I focus on developing a quantum sensor for neurosurgery using Diamond Nitrogen-Vacancy (NV) centers. This highly sensitive sensor detects electromagnetic fields in real time, aiding tumor detection and ablation without direct tissue contact. Developed in collaboration with German physics labs, this BMBF-funded project aims to enhance surgical accuracy and make quantum technology viable for medical applications.

This study used Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) to synthesize Mn-doped and Mn-intercalated bismuth telluride, enhancing its thermoelectric performance at high temperatures. It explored transition metal intercalation as potential n-type dopants, with structural characterization providing insights into improved thermoelectric properties.

Yttrium-doped Barium Tungstate nanostructures were synthesized via a chemical method and characterized using UV–vis spectroscopy, XRD, FTIR, TEM, and Raman spectroscopy. UV–vis analysis showed a shift in the absorption edge toward the visible region with Y doping, while XRD and Raman confirmed a tetragonal structure. Third-order nonlinear optical properties were studied using the Z-scan technique with a 532 nm Nd:YAG laser, revealing saturable absorption and thermal nonlinear effects.

Zinc Oxide nanorods are synthesized by wet chemical methods and amino acids such as alanine and methionine are tagged with the Zinc Oxide nanorods. The complex is characterized by UV-Visible spectroscopy, Powder XRD. The complex is studied to understand its inductive effect on n-type semiconductor when utilized in p-n heterojunction diodes.
