In addition to Associate Editor duties: - Management of multiple article collections - Initiating and following projects outside daily editorial requirements - International outreach and presentations to Doctoral students, regarding editorial processes and all aspects of publishing

- Journal development and promotion - Temporarily responsible for some Chief Editor duties during recruitment - Responsible for the development of the Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Cardiology sections

- Identifying research articles suitable for BMC Medicine’s scope and interest level - Set up and maintenance of thematic article collections. - Liaising with authors, referees and the Editorial Board. - Liaising with internal departments to ensure the smooth running and advocacy of the journal. - Commissioning and developing front matter content. - Regular attendance at international medical conferences. - Experience with article processing workflows and Editorial Manager submission system

- Liaison with JWF migration team - Presentation of current issues in peer review at team meetings - Presentation of journal’s performance to team, EBMs and senior management - Drafting of journal’s electronic Table of Content - Attendance of Social Lab meetings on behalf of the journal - Regular attendance at meetings with Marketing Manager
