Berufserfahrung von Alexandra Steinacker
I began in the Client Services department, which has given me the opportunity to experience the day-to-day workings of one of the most renowned auction houses worldwide and the procedures necessary to maintain the structure and professionalism that is important to our clients. I also began working in the Bids department in 2019, and with that have further deepened my knowledge in regard to all variants of bids, along with clerking, telephone bidding, and regulations involved with the bidding process.

Intern
Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien
This 4-week internship allowed me to gain insight into a non-commercial art institution, and I was lucky enough to be in a museum with one of the most extensive and impressive collections world-wide. I worked in the head office as well as the Kunstkammer and Schatzkammer and assisted with various day-to-day tasks. I was thrilled to be able to work so closely with the two departments, and am very thankful for the experience this internship gave me.

This internship took place over the summer of 2018 in Salzburg, Austria, during the main season and the Salzburger Festspiele. I took part in various exhibition openings with artists Elizabeth Peyton, Gilbert & George, and Gerwald Rockenschaub. I had the opportunity to meet the artists and assist with preparation for events and organizational tasks typical for one of the busiest seasons in Salzburg in regard to the Arts.

Stern Pissarro Gallery
This was a 6 week internship, including an exhibition opening showcasing the preparatory works of Christo‘s monumental land art coinciding with his installation of the London Mastaba in Hyde Park. The intimate size of the gallery and its team enabled me to acquire detailed, hands-on experience into all aspects of the gallery, which allowed me to gain insight into the complexities and approaches of the London-based gallery.
