Operation of a bacterial collection and preservation of samples through freeze-drying. Knowledge about taxonomy, identification, characterization and typing of prokaryotes. Taxonomic study to describe a new species of the genus Pseudomonas: P. asturiensis sp. nov.

Use of informatics tools to analyze DNA sequences, construction and interpretation of phylogenies based on multilocus sequences of DNA.
