Considered one of the most active chapters of the Interaction Design Association (IxDA), IxDA Berlin is a community of experts and novices, passionate for learning, networking and quality time. Interaction Design is common ground for design sectors focussing on Services, Strategy, User Experience, Product, and many more. We are fostering exchange amongst designers in Berlin since 2008.

LabUp! is here to help people around the world in establishing nonprofit Open Device Labs which helps others access a large number of mobile devices for testing, leading to an ultimate improvement of the mobile web & app experience both for developers and consumers.

Entrepreneurship started age 14 (co-published a commercial city magazine and a music record). Studio- and live sound engineer and music producer; 7 major-label albums, several singles, mixes, videos, TV program and feature film, ~1.000 live performances FOH/MOH, pyrotechnics, Europe and USA (1991 to 2008). "Multimedia Producer" and print- and "Web-Designer and -Developer". IT-consultant, software engineer and designer for customers in tech, global e-tail/retail, music, publishing and sports-marketing.

Fast growing KircherBurkhardt, later rebranded to C3, rapidly developed needs for enterprise-grade IT services supporting large scale design and media production projects. Reliable and secure, smart online solutions being a rarity at the time, we developed bespoke middleware and established secure network links into international Fortune 500 corporations. Enabling multi-language, omni channel, international projects across corporate networks for customers like Mazda Motors, Bosch and Kraft Foods.

My main services sold through this Berlin based editorial design firm included engineering leadership for several major online projects, including the full revamp of news portal Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger (2001), and a browser based corporate publishing platform for 84.000 global users at the transportation and logistics giant Deutsche Bahn AG which saved the customer north of 8 Million Euro in operational cost.

Targeting overall workflow and efficiency improvements I helped to migrate the ~250 editors newspaper Berliner Zeitung from Cicero/DOS to QPS on macOS 7 to X, NeXT, WinNT and *IX derivates. The project included all editorial and production aspects such as the integration of news agency feeds, full analog to digital photo production and color management from scan into print, ad-sales and -management, print to web, archiving, and a number of other automated processes and custom software.

Joining Olaf Druemmer's team at callas back in 1996 extended my skills in and view on software engineering, whilst supporting general product development and special projects for editorial customers like New York Times, Der Spiegel, and Hürriyet.
