Network Engineer employed under contract to Telepazio VEGA, at the European Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt.

Leading a 2nd line Network Team of 6 members with the following duties (besides the technical role): - Provide a technical interface between the SDM and the team - Support the end-to-end operational IT services - Ensure tasks are scheduled in an efficient manner and that priorities are met (aligned with SDM guidance). - Produce shift, on-call and annual leave schedules, increasing on-site or on-call support during major operational support phases as required.

Mainteneance and operation of the European Space Agency operational communications infrastructure : - LAN support of the high-availability, critical operational infrastructure for satellite support via local onsite networks and remote Ground Stations - WAN support of the wide area network connecting to sites all over the world via leased, MPLS, internet VPN and ISDN lines - Working on Network services, security services (Firewall/IDS), voice services, NTP, SDN (ACI), ASA Firewalls, Catalyst and Nexus.

- Working closely with the ISP TIM (formerly Telecom Italia) customers ( to identify and draw technical specifications for new projects over IP access networks - Network Design (High Level Design study and documentation) on access networks. - Test Lab design and Testing execution - Analysing and writing Low Level Design Documents - Troubleshooting the Service Provider IP networks. - Security design on networks

Sectors covered: - Installation, upgrade and support VMWare vSphere Suite - Installation/configuration /migration/upgrade Windows Server, Active directory and Windows for home/office users (Xp/Vista/7/8) - Installation/replacement of PCs/Servers hardware components - Installation/Configuration/Troubleshooting of Cisco and Enterasys Technologies - Installation/Configuration/Troubleshooting of Fortinet, Checkpoint and Stormshield (Netasq) firewalls
