Involvement in EU, ESA and national projects with focus on proposal denition, task management and technical contributions. Main research focus on development of advanced random access solutions for maritime security systems based on the AIS system, Machine to Machine applications, as well as for new ETSI satellite standards. My activities span from protocol and system design, analysis and simulation to the definition of Software Dened Radio based testbed to verify advanced communication schemes

Post doctoral internship in the R&D department working on network coding-based solutions for LTE networks.

Analysis of interference alignment techniques in random access networks and design of advanced hybrid ARQ solutions capable of jointly leveraging cooperative relaying and network coding.

Focus on design, analysis and implementation of routing protocols for wireless sensor networks, with attention to energy efficiency. My activities included participation in EU FP7 projects, and, within the framework of a customer-nanced project, I actively contributed to the development of an energy-efficient IEEE 802.15.4-based multi-hop wireless sensor network capable of autonomously monitoring, detecting and reporting to a central station harmful vibrations in industrial environments.
