Global responsibility for Program Purchasing and Supply Chain Management of the Active Safety Division from ZF Group

Responsible for the Partnership with General Motors in all aspects of Procurement for common plattform based vehicles. In addition responsible to build up and run a new Purchasing Organisation inside Opel with Industrial Purchasing Managers located in the production plants, to ensure alignement between plants and Purchasing, but also with other central functions like Engineering and Finance

Responsible for effective Purchasing strategies to reach established goals for material cost reduction, supplier quality targets, logistic performance at right technology level. This position reports directly to the board and includes the responsibility for the European Annual Purchas Value of several Billion EUR.

Responsible for leading the Product Purchasing Deaprtment of General Motors in Europe with an Annual Purchasing Value of several Billion EUR/year with more than 1000 suppliers and more than 300 employees across whole Europe. Strong cross-functional collaboration globally inside General Motors as well outside with Suppliers, Partners and Associations are key for success and part of my responsibilities. This position reports directly to the board

Responsible for the purchase of everything in Europe what is needed to develop, build and sell cars. This includes mainly all Services from suppliers for Development/Engineering, Production and Sales Department, as well Machinery and Equipment. Yearly spend of several Billion EUR with challenging targets in cost reduction, quality and timely service to ensure delivery of requirements to all stakeholders in time. Direct report to Board of Opel and responsible for more than 100 employees cross Europe

Responsible for Purchasing of all Electric and Electronik systems and components for General Motors in Europe. Beside this responsibility for all Wiring Harnesses purchased by General Motors globally with a multi Billion USD yearly turnover. Leading more than 50 employess worldwide and reporting to the Board of Opel and the global Purchasing Leader of GM for Electric/Electronic, located at GM Shanghai.

Responsible for purchasing of several commodities/components like seats/seat structures, Steering Systems, Steel, Mechanical controls with global and regional responsibilities for General Motors. Leading role in the GM-Fiat-Purchasing Joint Venture

I started my carreer as Buyer for raw materials and steel at GM in Europe. After 3 years I took over the responsibility for the purchase of all Stampings and Rods for Opel in Europe leading a team of 5 employees. Due to efficient outsourcing strategies of stampings the turnover for Purchasing increased and Make or Buy process got high visibility and importance, including our social partners
