• Lead cross-functional team of bench scientist and computational biologists for analysis of complex in vitro and in vivo data, biomarker expression, validation using clinical data, and pathway analysis • Identification of biomarker signatures for individual breast cancer stem cells and functional validation in vitro and in primary tumors • Guided interns and research technicians

• Investigated physiological role and cellular antitumorigenic mechanisms of the immune effector TRAIL-R in vitro and in vivo • Examined role of diverse tumor suppressor proteins for sensitivity towards chemotherapy • Identified with TRAIL-R the first in vivo confirmed metastasis suppressor protein in mice

• Analyzed ligand/receptor-mediated apoptosis signaling pathways in immune cells and tumor cells • Identification and validation of the first murine TRAIL-receptor (TRAIL-R) in mice • Generated and tested protein-based agonistic and antagonistic tools and antibodies • Generated conditional mTRAIL-R knockout mice • Guided interns and research technicians
