Building up and implementating a data base to manage and reconstruct the historical authorisations of blood products

Supervision of medicine students (second semester) during their practical laboratory training.

I worked independently and examined the regulation of ARTD in HeLa and partly U2OS cells. The work included cell culture, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, transfection of the cells with expression plasmids and siRNA, transformation of E.coli following purification of proteins. Furthermore I performed a kinase assay as well as an ADP-rybosylation assay which included work with radioactive materials. Master thesis: 'The regulation of ARTD: Simuli, Pathways and Transcription Factors'.

Work placement following Bachelor assignment: I worked independently and examined the canonical and non-canonical NFĸB pathway in U2OS cells. The work included cell culture, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, MTT-Assay and siRNA transfection. The theme of my Bachelor assignment was: 'The IKKalpha-mediated non-canonical NFkappaB signalling cascade - a good target for drug intervention in cancer? ' I gained valuable experience working under pressure in a research area and arranging every day work.

Work placement in the chemical laboratory. The work I carried out included: quality control of incoming goods (raw materials for ethanol production), testing and analysis of samples through various stages of the fermentation process e.g. dry mass, acid and gas content checks. I gained valuable experience working under pressure in a real production environment.

Voluntary two-week work placement at the clinical laboratory. I worked both under supervision and independently. The work included the preparation of blood samples, the analysis of urine samples and the testing for pregnancy and drugs.
