Dr. Arkadiusz Wyrzucki

My current work is focused on selection and optimization of therapeutic, monoclonal antibodies against infectious diseases. Within the time spent at Humabs BioMed I further developed skills related to phage display technology and also learned a HTP platform for screening antibodies using immortalized B cells.

During the short postdoc my research was focused on antibody engineering and recombinant vaccine design and it was a follow-up of the findings that we made in our group within the time frame of my PhD. Briefly, altogether with my colleagues, we were submitting scientific publications reporting our discoveries, finalizing patent procedures for our inventions and finding industrial partners for further development of our antibodies and vaccines.

I was taking part in the development of a malaria vaccine based on recombinant adenoviral vectors. During this intense internship I gained an extensive knowledge about gene therapy, vaccine design and I was also acknowledged with the working environment of a pharmaceutical company. Further, I learned the basics about evaluating drugs in clinical trials and providing them with legal protection.
