My work is framed within the project "Exploiting the Human Peptidome forNovel Antimicrobial and Anticancer Agents", from the Collaborative ResearchCentre 1279 : -Generation of peptides libraries from human hemofiltrate. -Purification and characterization of biologically active human peptides. -Data analysis of quantitative/qualitative mass spectrometry experiments. -Application of bioinformatic approaches for peptide identification.

- Design and execution of the extraction, isolation, purification andcharacterization of sea anemone peptide/protein toxins acting on ion channels. - Design and execution of the purification and characterization of humanhemolfiltrate peptides exhibiting a variety of antimicrobial activities.

- Leader of one national project and three international projects related to the discovery of new sea anemone toxins - Design and execution of extraction, isolation, chromatographic purification,toxicity assays and chemical characterization of sea anemone peptides actingupon neuronal ion channels and receptors. - Design and execution of peptidomics/transcriptomics studies of sea anemonevenoms for the discovery of novel peptides of pharmacological and biomedicalinterest

- Design and execution of strategies for analysis and purification of recombinant proteins , natural proteins as well as low molecular weight compounds from dialyzable leukocyte extract and marine/terrestrial plants. - Purification/analysis service within the institute and also for external institutes. - Management of the Chromatography Lab at the Physical Chemistry Division
