I am accountable and responsible for all cost down programs including DfX (Design for Excellence) within the Philips Hospital Respiratory Care business unit. I have to ensure the elimination of all unnecessary costs from the product design by improving the product quality, ease of manufacturing and serviceability. In my role I have to secure that the commodity management strategy and the business strategy are aligned to offer the best experience for our customers while being profitable for the company.

Responsible for the entire planning, budgeting, sourcing and execution of a multisite (Germany, India, China) and highly visible development & insourcing project for a premium SubSystem, leading a team of 35 cross-functional professionals and 2 sub-project managers. Managing of two additional Cost Price Reduction projects in parallel.

Global cross-functional leadership role with responsibility for the development and the implementation of a long term productivity roadmap. Driving and overseeing cost price reduction programs in close collaboration with the departments F&A, Manufacturing, Service and Procurement to optimize the key positions Bill of Material, Manufacturing Overhead, Freight, Installation, Scrap and Warranty.

Developed and implemented a RoHS compliance strategy for the assessment, redesign and certification of the entire DXR- product portfolio (24 main products, 30 plus major suppliers spread over the production sites in Germany, India, China and Sweden). Ensured seamless RoHS compliance on time, within budget and with minimum of scrap and rework costs, making DXR to be seen as role model within Philips Imaging Systems.

Lead a team of service designers, supporters and technical writers for the definition, development, implementation and validation of service concepts for the new iXR CardioVascular X-Ray generator. Created and optimized processes, workflows and serviceability concepts for the X-Ray components tubes, generators and cooling units in the divisions of CardioVascular and Diagnostical X-Ray Systems.
