Bernd Wynands

As a member in the world wide team for application integration middleware, my main mission is to recruit and enable business partners to work on the IBM WebSphere software stack. Together with my colleagues we cover the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa). Currently my focus is on the public sector area where we concentrate on customs, border management, defence and healthcare.

before my current job role, I have been working as a technical instructor giving training courses and customised workshops for customers and business partners of IBM around WebSphere software products. I have given classes in almost every European country and beyond across all industry sectors including Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, BeNeLux, Germany, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Russia, South Africa, Israel and the United States.

with lots of experience in the area of enterprise application integration, I have been working as a software service consultant in IBM Software Group. I have been assigned to several implementation projects in Germany and across Europe. Largest projects were at Siemens in Germany and at EADS Airbus in Toulouse. My speciality was integrating SAP systems with other systems based on Java/J2EE using adapter technology and integration brokers from IBM.

The brief one year I was with Crossworlds Software I have been working as a software service consultant. Although the time was rather short, I have learned the key skills for my future path up until today. I learned the main integration patterns and methodologies to create integration architectures for customers until the company was aquired by IBM in 2002. Leveraging my SAP skills I contributed to large integration projects in Germany and beyond, which later continued to be IBM projects.

After 2 years in R&D at the headquarters in Madrid I changed to the new opend German services organisation of Meta4 in Munich. My main job was to assist during the sales campaign and to implement the Meta4 HR solution at customers in Germany and other coutries. Most important customers were Roland Berger und Partner in Munich and Pagine Gialle in Italy.

At Meta4 Spain I have learned new technologies and programming techniques like Java. In the R&D department I have been a member of the German team. We were to develop the German specific parts of an HR management and payroll system. My main task was to develop legal reports for health insurances and social security systems.

After having successfuly finished an apprenticeship as "Datenverarbeitungskaufmann" I continued increasing my SAP skills in ABAP. I programmed and maintained special reports and transaction programs in the area of material management and plant maintenance. During this time I participated in a larger migration project from SAP R/2 to R/3 which I have benefited a lot from.
