The outcome of the thesis will be findings on how to improve the performance of current varieties and identify crossing parents for further improvement of the breeding germplasm. Disease scoring (rust, Rhynchosporium, or scald) in barley yield trials and observational trials. Scoring of winter hardiness and plant height in barley. Participating in breeding operations such as bagging, emasculation, and pollination of different combinations of barley parents.

• Data Scoring (Ear emergence, Fusarium & Ergot, Plant height, heading, flowering and tillering). • Setting and removing selfing bags. • Preparation of pollen traps and sterility control in hybrid barley. • Crop conditioning (weighing, thousand kernel weight, taking samples). • Support harvest of yield trial plots at different locations. • Sowing preparations and sowing of yield trials.

Worked in breeding operations mainly seed preparation for various trials in the maize breeding program. • Attended theoretical and practical breeding courses for Maize crop to understand breeding team organization and how they work. • Understanding the Limagrain software for data visualization, genomic selection, Phenotyping, validation, envirotyping and breeding database
